Updating WordPress, Themes, and Plugins

When your site needs an update you will see a colored number badge on the “Updates” menu in your dashboard.
On your updates page you will see a list of things with updates available. Select the things you wish to update and then click the “Update _” button at the top and bottom of the category of items.


During the update, you site will be put into temporary “Maintenance Mode”. DO NOT navigate away from this page or close the tab until the update is complete.

You can be sure the update is complete and it is safe to leave the page when you see this message at the bottom of your page:

It is general good practice to look at the front end of your site on both desktop and mobile devices after any updates to ensure no bugs have been introduced.
